Flattened Fauna is a project that through several parts examines the relationship between the personal and common beliefs about death. While artist is meditating on the consequences and impact of his fathers death, he is using his own personal experience of grief to confront it with mythologies, pseudoscience, paranormal entities, rituals, spirit conjuring seanse and all kinds of obscure relationships and representations of death.

Perception of both “worlds” is constructed through montage of the artist’s private archives and memorabilias with stereotypical and generally accepted representations of death and afterlife. As the boundaries of collective and personal memory become almost invisible, heterogeneous mass created in process is reconstructing existence through usage of extremes – from banal and trivial to poetic and spiritual.
